1300Liko has always been on a path that leads to success in music. Born and raised in Virginia to a musically talented family, music is literally in 1300Liko’s blood. Shackleford, Virginia, is the place that has served as the canvas for 1300Liko to paint the colors of sound throughout his life. In this case, his voice is the paintbrush as the r&b singer and rapper births art on musical instrumentals in late-night studio sessions.

1300Liko is born to sing personified as a person. His father and mother are talented singers, and his brother Mow B is a talented music producer. 1300Liko remembers singing songs since the age of four. 1300Liko stated, “I remember my mother telling me I was singing full songs around the house at the age of four that she never really played around me, but had played when she was pregnant with me.” 1300Liko sang in the church choir growing up but didn’t pursue a career in music until college.

1300Liko walking around the halls of his college singing would be the spark that ignited his professional music career. 1300Liko contemplated dropping out of college while attending Ferrum College, a small private school in Ferrum, Virginia. Some of his female classmates heard an unknown melodic voice singing in the hallway between classes. They discovered that the mystery melodic voice belonged to 1300Liko. Eventually, the school administrators became aware of 1300Liko’s musical talents. They offered 1300Liko a full scholarship in theatre art to continue in education at Ferrum College for free.

That was 1300Liko’s epiphany that his gift of singing could open doors and make room for him. He returned home to pursue music professionally on a full-time basis.

1300Liko decided to rap initially but decided to get back to his roots of singing after recording several rap songs. 1300Liko stated, “with dedication, anyone can rap, but you can only sing well if you have the voice for it.” He kept his brother Mow B in the dark about his first recorded records, but Mow B eventually became his audio engineer upon discovering that 1300Liko was seriously pursuing a music career.

1300Liko first project was titled No Floss, which featured the single Forsho Forsho. This sparked interactions and conversations with the likes of Gillie of the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast and Detroit-based female rapper Kash Doll.

1300Liko simultaneously found a new passion during this time, hosting parties. He began to rent buildings in King and Queen County, Virginia, and the surrounding areas to host themed parties. The DJs of the parties would sporadically play 1300Liko’s music during the parties. This helped 1300Liko gain traction with his music locally and caught the eye of Kevin “Fat Kat” Taylor. Fat Kat silently monitored 1300Liko’s musical progression for a year before signing him to Chart Champ Musik.

Kevin “Fat Kat” Taylor is the owner of a successful commercial cleaning company, mentorship program for at-risk children, trucking company, and party promoter based out of Richmond, Virginia. Fat Kat does contract work for music tours in partnership with Live Nation on a national level.

A lot of great musical talent has emerged from Virginia throughout the years. 1300Liko respects and admires the musical accomplishments of Pusha T, Trey Songz, Fat Trell, Chris Brown, etc. But he admitted that his favorite artists right now are Lil Durk and Lil’ Baby. He also stated that he’d like to do a song with Lil Durk, Lil’ Baby, and Drake.

1300Liko said,

I don’t want to be on a record trying to out-sing another singer, but if I do a song with Lil’ Durk, I can sing, and he can do the rapping. You have to be strategic with your feature choices. Doing a record with Lil’ Durk, Lil Baby, and Drake could make you mainstream just from the feature.

1300Liko is friends with some of Trey Songz’s family members in Virginia but prefers to keep things authentic despite the few degrees of separation from Trey Songz. 1300Liko prefers to forge his path organically.

1300Liko has a new single scheduled to be released later in 2022 that chronicles his perspective after experiencing a car crash that put life in proper perspective for him. 1300Liko talked about the car crash, saying, “God gives you signs when you’re doing things you’re not supposed to be doing…He [God] gave me a sign for sure.”

Five months ago, 1300Liko’s Instagram account was suspended by Instagram, causing him to lose thousands of followers. Undeterred, he has a new Instagram profile that he is slowly building up again. However, he wants Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Mosseri to know that he desires to get his original account restored. 1300Liko said, “I wrote Instagram and everything, but man…I got a copyright strike from Instagram for playing my own song.”

Outside of those minor algorithm road bumps, everything else is looking up for 1300Liko.
